![]() ![]() Lauderdale, but as soon as we got there, my mom received an email that they canceled our flight! We tried to figure this out as soon as we could because our rental car was needing to be returned. ![]() To get to the airport, we took a 3-hour trip up to Ft. I was ready to go home and see friends and family, but a part of me wanted to stay in the warm, beautiful weather. Before I knew it, it was time to go home. Plus, it’s by a dock, so while you're waiting for your food ,you can take a stroll to see if you can find any interesting sea life. I always order the Key West crab cake and sweet potato fries. On our last day we got to go to my favorite restaurant: Porkys. I also learned that there were a lot of diseases going around at the time too. I learned that many people who lived there had a very large number of kids compared to today. It was really interesting to learn about the “haunted” past of the Island. The next day, my brother, my dad, and I ventured down to Key West to do the Ghost Tour, something I've always wanted to do. No one really wanted to swim, but there were a ton of man 'o war jellyfish up and down the beach stuck in the seagrass. One day we took a trip to the beach but didn’t stay long because the water was a little cold, with it only being spring. We mostly just chilled at the house and swam in the pool for most of the trip. ![]() We saw a lot of cool sea animals, such as a little reef shark and a turtle, which was super exciting, considering you don't see them while you're snorkeling as often. The day we did get to go out was because of our little flight mishap, but I'll get to that later. ![]() When we are lucky enough to get the chance, it’s always a lot of fun seeing all the cool fish. Therefore, going on the boat wasn’t really an option because of the waves however, it also takes up a lot of time to get all the gear loaded onto the boat along with all the food because we're out there mostly all day. But then it was time for them to leave, so it was just my family hanging out at the house. One of my dad's sisters was down there the first couple days we were there, so we all hung out and had some fun going to dinner and having a little birthday party for my cousin, who just turned 5. The trip was definitely laid back compared to other trips we have taken, but it was really relaxing and occasionally exciting, considering all the fun activities we had the chance to do. My family and I had the opportunity to take a trip down to Marathon Florida, a part of the Florida Keys. This spring break was a little chaotic but a lot of fun. Not a replacement for the BnR but a decent alternative that saves a little dosh.Florida Keys provide memories and beautiful getaway Shading shows nicely on most shady inks (even Twilight, though not Pervenche) sheen is exhibited as well, obvious with Lilac and Oku-yama thicker lines on wetter writers, and more subtly on finer lines, as with the Yama-dori. It's not quite as bright as the BnR but show-through was minimal on almost all the inks I tried, with some bleed-through from the usual suspects - slight with Vert Empire and Levenger Claret, slightly more with Dark Lilac and, of course, Pervenche and Twilight. Both pages have a thin border line around the edge which does cut into the usable space slightly. The front-facing side is narrow ruled with a margin line and a subject and date box across the top the rear side is a grid. I was leery at first, the paper wasn't as thick as the BnR but it was definitely better quality than the memo books and the surface felt fairly smooth when I ran my finger over it so I decided to try one out. Last time I was at Walmart, I came across a similar spiral, Blue Sky Smart Notes - double-wire lay-flat, poly covers, a little narrower and a bit taller. I got a couple of the little 4圆 ones, thinking to get rid of the nasty little memo pads I keep on my desk but these little ones are $3 and change. Was so pleased to discover the Black n' Red poly spiral notebooks and finally see what ink looks like on nice paper. ![]()
